First picture is of an aisian drummer that started up across the street, bad picture thanks to the traffic on State Street, heading north, many to Olympic Stadium (Rice-Eccles Stadium). Second picture is of the 'parade' of police officers at the beginning, needless to say, we froze our butts off for over an hour, wiped snot from upper lips of our kids, and saw mostly our finest who protect us. But the kids enjoyed that part. Third picture is of a motorcycle officer, I just happened to snap, it was crazy out there. Especially elbowing for postion on the curb of a busy street! Then the caravan passes by, I missed it, the second caravan carrying Mitt Romney, he was waving like Miss USA! :) I was SOO lucky and didn't even realize I caught this, but it's an almost perfect picture of the truck carrying the cauldron. We were hoping to see the relay, and some actual runners, but I guess they were quite behind schedule, so had to hurry it from Murray City Hall, through South Salt Lake, and on to North Salt Lake. So a little disappointed, but it was still exciting. Had another picture after this, but it was pretty much people's feet. Not sure, don't ask. Oh, and note the guy who is SUPPOSED to be driving, in the big red truck behind the cauldron truck! Too funny! There will be more pictures to come, the ones we took tonight, of the Rings on the mountainside, and of the Cauldron on the stadium, didn't work out. It is, I have to admit, one of the most beautiful cauldrons I've seen yet. So, stay tuned!!!
